At St Teresa’s P.S., pastoral care permeates all aspects of school life. It reflects the values, attitudes, beliefs and practices of our Catholic faith. We see the school as a community in which pupils, staff, parents, governors and all those connected to St. Teresa’s P.S. take great pride in all that we do. We feel that everyone has an important role to play in contributing to the success of the school.

The atmosphere of the school is based upon good relationships between governors/staff/pupils/parents. As a staff we work as a team, respecting each other’s roles and responsibilities and recognising individual talents and expertise. We are concerned with the well being of each child and so our teaching approaches and experiences presented enable them to achieve their maximum potential.
We recognize and value the important role parents’ play in their child’s education. Every effort is made to ensure parents feel welcome, that they are made aware of the school’s aims, objectives and policies and that they too recognise their child’s individual needs, progress and achievements. We expect our parents to co-operate fully with us in achieving these goals.

About St Malachy’s
Saint Malachy’s Primary School is set in the historic townland of Ballymoyer, between Whitecross and Newtownhamilton, Co Armagh. Built in 1906, the school has four spacious and modern classrooms, a multi-purpose room and sensory area, as well as an extensive outdoor environment in which pupils enjoy nature walks and lessons throughout the school year. St Malachy’s Primary School has long been a flagship Eco-school and was a previous winner of the Tidy Schools Competition.
In recent years, it has benefitted from a large investment in its infrastructure, which has seen the installation of a trim trail and much larger playground, which provides opportunities for Gaelic games and creative play for our children. In 2023, three new modular classrooms were installed on site, which now provide stimulating, comfortable and modern facilities for our pupils. Children benefit from having access to an outstanding range of digital devices including ipads, laptops and state of the art digital touch screen boards in all classrooms. There are four full-time teachers, who supported by skilled classroom assistants, are dedicated to the highest standards in education and welfare for the children.
Our pupils are immersed in parish life, participating as altar servers and choir members, as well as being members of the local GAA clubs. They attend a weekly mass in St Malachy’s Church and are prepared for the sacraments by the class teachers and parish team. Our school is proud to serve the local community and ensures our children are at the centre of everything we do.

About St Brigid’s PS
St. Brigids, locally known as Drumilly School, is a Catholic Maintained Primary School for girls and boys aged 4-11. Originally opened in 1846, the school was rebuilt in 1962 as a two-teacher school with 52 children on the roll, the accommodation then being two classrooms and a small dining room. By 1969 a mobile was acquired. In 2006 the mobiles were replaced with a large modern extension to the school bringing all the classrooms under one roof. In 2014, with enrolment continuing to grow, an additional modular building with two self-contained classrooms was added to our current site. Our present enrolment stands at 124 students.
The vision for St. Brigid’s Drumilly is one where each individual is completely committed to following the living example of Christ. In fostering such a commitment, a community of faith can be established, creating an environment of love and security valued by all. Each member of our school is encouraged to embrace every aspect of school life through which they feel valued, respected and loved, and where they strive to discover and fulfil their talents to their greatest potential.
The staff of St. Brigid’s recognise and value the school as a community investment, and in this respect we all endeavour to improve the quality of life spiritually, intellectually and physically for all who share partnership in its day to day operation.
We have a very active School Council, made up of five elected members from within the student body. They represent the student voice and ensure that the school is constantly changing and adapting to meet the needs of all our students. In addition, we have a fantastic Eco-committee, again led by our students. They are also very active throughout the school year and indeed have just been awarded their seventh Green Flag for outstanding Eco work. These two committees perfectly demonstrate our constant drive to provide the very best for our students and our community. Their actions are mirrored by our governors and staff, with the support of parents, as we constantly work to improve the school’s environment and resources and the quality of children’s education.
